Los Angeles: Turkish Language and Performing Arts Contest
Finals of the Turkish Language and Performing Arts Contest in the West Coast area were held in Center Theater, Long Beach, California.There were eight categories in the 2013 Turkish Language Olympiad. The categories were; singing, poetry recital, skit, folk dance and presentation for the non-native speakers, and poetry recital, reading comprehension, and general knowledge in the Turkish language and culture for the Turkish native speakers.
Magnolia Science Academy1 competed in singing, poetry recitation, folk dance and skit categories. Alyssa De Los Santos from 6th grade got the 2nd place in singing category, our Folk Dance Team received Judges Special Award and the skit team was given the best team award.
